Primera aproximación uso EQ8 Skywatcher 24/ago/2014.                                                            First Light EQ8 Skywatcher use 24/Aug/2014

During the previous day a polar align was made with Alignmaster,  http://www.alignmaster.de/ , and leaving an alignment error of 1-2 arc minutes on each axis of azimut and height. The mount remains aligned with one star on the East and got parked.

Today we restart from park and using this control system:

·         TheSky6 (Telescope API)

·         MaximDl (TheSky controlled telescope)

·         Driver ascom de Celestron para monturas Synta. Celestron´s ascom driver for Synta mount.

Equipo: Equipment

·         CCD: Sbig St-10XME

·         Telescopio RC GSO 10" 250mm f/2000mm. Telescope

We proceed with the following pointing and unguiding imaging test:

We make an initial GOTO to Vega star with TheSky6 and it goes deadly in the center of the CCD sensor at 2000mm focal lenght and with a field of view of 17,2 x 25,5 arc min and resolution of 0,701 arc second per pixel.

First GOTO is to M15 with MaximDl and it goes to the center field of view.

Next we GOTO with MaximDl to M13 (Mount flips and gets in the east side of pier pointing to the West). The cluster got centered as shown below:

We go back to M15 using MaximDl and mount filps again, leaving the mount in the west side of the pier pointing to the East:

Next, GOTO to M11 using MaximDL that is placed in the southern sky. The mount is the east side of the pier pointing West.

Next GOTO is to M52 in the North-east part of the sky. Mount is place in the west side of the pier poiting to the east.

Finally, we GOTO to M101 at the North western part of the sky. Mount is in the east side of the pier pointing west.

Conclusion:

After making the polar alignment with Alignmaster, the pointing error is less than 2 arc min, without using additional help mapping with TheSky6 or PAE utility in Synscan handcontroller.

Pointing errors are small enough to avoid using Pintpoint or Elbrus star locator, and in case of being necessary, Pinpoint would be fine because pointing error is not large.
